Research team to extract new alloy LED light source acts as a phosphor

LED light source type is currently more popular on the market, compared to traditional incandescent bulbs superior performance, service life and more durable. However, in the white light emitting LED light source, a phosphor using a rare earth element, the main function is emitted from the LED chip longer waves, so that the lamp can be dissipated in the full spectrum of visible light. The mining and processing of rare earth is quite dangerous, is currently China's only international offers considerable number of countries, leading to a rise in the price of rare earths, for which comes from New Jersey, Rutgers University research team led by Professor JingLi for LED light source successfully found alternative solutions. 

 

Research team from the very cheap and abundant copper iodide extract a new alloy material that can act as a replacement LED light source of rare earth phosphors. And most importantly, this simple extraction method comparison, the cost is lower, also by adjusting the color and intensity can tune warmer than the existing mixed blue LED white light.
